Modernlink is a New York based shop focused on sourcing and carefully refurbishing rare mid-century Scandinavian furniture. Founder William Lee travels several times a year to the Scandinavian countries to scour hidden gems which can be restored to their original pristine condition. A walk through his shop located on Bond Street in Lower Manhattan is akin to a spiritual experience for those well versed in design.

In 1998, William Lee opened Modernlink as a mini furniture department within ABC Carpet & Home. Six years later, it moved into its own store on Bond Street. Named after an exhibit about Eastern influences on Western furniture that Lee saw in Oslo, Modernlink reflects his superb eye for design. William's fascination with mid-century design lies in the idea of moving away from a throw-away culture to celebrate timeless products that last. These products transcend trends with excellent craftsmanship attention to detail. They are made to stand the test of time.

In addition to refurbished furniture, Modernlink also carries a handful of new production pieces from firms who still manufacture with the same fanatical attention to detail as well as new brands such as BENSEN, a design and manufacturing group founded in 1981 by Niels Bendtsen. BENSEN embodies the mid-century Scandinavian philosophy of balance, simplicity and honesty in design so that the furniture can take on everlasting character.
