Amanda Martocchio established AMA in New Canaan, Connecticut, in 2004, inspired by the local legacy of mid-century modern design. AMA’s mission is to design living environments that inspire a sense of wellness. We create architecture that responds to its natural surroundings and interior spaces filled with warmth and natural light. We recognize our responsibility as architects is to assure upon ethical supply chains, to protect the earth’s resources, and to minimize our environmental footprint through thoughtful and sustainable design.

AMA’s work has received multiple design awards, including LEED certification, the 2011 Connecticut Emerging Architectural Firm Award, and the 2023 AIA Connecticut Women in Architecture Award, honoring a female architect who demonstrates design excellence, promotes equitable practice, and creates positive change in the architectural profession.  Amanda received her Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University and her Master of Architecture from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. Her early career in New York City focused on large-scale cultural and commercial buildings at HLW and Polshek Partnership (Ennead).
