Landscape Architect

Lou Arencibia, PLA, ASLA, is the Founding Principal of OLA Landscape Architecture, a New York–based studio specializing in high-end residential, hospitality, and garden design throughout the United States and abroad.

With a background spanning architecture, urban design, and landscape architecture, Lou brings a holistic perspective to the creation of outdoor environments. Drawing on nearly two decades of experience, he founded OLA to create landscapes that are authentic, enduring, and deeply connected to place.

At OLA, the belief is that every site has a unique story. The studio’s role is not to impose an idea, but to uncover what is already there and translate it into a landscape that feels authentic, timeless, and deeply connected to its surroundings.

OLA draws heavily on local materials, traditions, and native plant communities to create meaningful relationships between architecture, garden, and terrain. By balancing structure and spontaneity, the work seeks to create places that enhance how people live, gather, restore, and connect.

Increasingly, the studio’s work explores the intersection of landscape, wellness, and hospitality, creating environments that support restoration, retreat, and connection.
