Peter Guthrie lives in Brooklyn New York. He is a father, designer, builder, investor, entrepreneur.
He is the Founder of DDG Partners, headquartered in New York City, a multidisciplinary design, build, and develop firm that makes architecturally inspired buildings. Peter is the lead designer and principal in charge for all the DDG led building designs as well as the Chief Creative Officer. With an emphasis on craft in construction and innovative contextual modernism Peter has brought his background in art history, sculpture, and fabrication to bear in the realization of the many award-winning buildings.
He is also the founder of Yellowtrees, a skunkworks style studio in Brooklyn, an expansion of the vertically integrated business model he pioneered with DDG that allows for even more multidisciplinary collaboration and creation. Designing and making anything from the micro to the macro that serves a projects need is the studio mission. From furniture to product design, installation to master-planning, architecture, construction, investment and beyond. This gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art), or “soup to nuts” approach allows for work across boundaries with ever expanding creative and entrepreneurial output.
Peter received his A.B. in art history and sculpture at Duke University. He received his master’s in architecture from the Yale School of Architecture.
