Susan Bednar Long is an internationally recognized, award-winning interior designer known for seamlessly merging contemporary and traditional elements to create interiors of enduring elegance. Each project is a personalized blend tailored to the client’s architectural character and lifestyle. Her firm S. B. Long Interiors, collaborates closely with clients to manage projects comprehensively, overseeing every detail from concept to final installation.

S.B. Long Interiors’ work has been featured in leading shelter publications such as Veranda, House Beautiful, Luxe Magazine, and DHome. The firm’s projects have also been recognized in international design books, including Provence Style and Andrew Martin Design Review. Susan design excellence has been acknowledged for 12 consecutive years as one of DHome’s Best Designers.

Susan’s passion for design began in Connecticut, where childhood drives past Philip Johnson’s Glass House inspired her early love of architecture and elegance. While studying fine art under sculptor George Baker in college, she focused on site-specific installations and discovered that interior design offered the perfect blend of artistry and problem-solving.

Before founding S.B. Long Interiors, Susan designed flagship stores for Ralph Lauren, mastering the art of layering furniture, textiles, artwork, and objects to create spaces rich with depth and character. Her award-winning Modern Traditional style combines classical and current influences for rooms that feel fresh, sophisticated, and deeply personal.

Living in Los Angeles fueled her love of Mediterranean design, Manhattan honed her eye for modernism, and her Connecticut home reflects New England tradition and preservation. Susan brings expertise in full-scale interior design, decoration, art selection and styling.  S.B. Long Interiors’ portfolio is as diverse as its clientele, including the celebrated renovation and decoration of Le Mas des Poiriers in Provence, France.
